The problem
While India has achieved 100% household electrification, many agricultural areas remain off-grid due to high costs and coordination challenges. Farmers, especially marginal ones, are left dependent on expensive fossil fuels for irrigation and mechanization. This lack of electricity access is a leading driver of farmer poverty. Although there's a push towards renewable energy in agriculture, adoption is slow due to high initial costs and limited subsidies for marginal farmers.
We are electrifying off-grid farms
Our solution
We’re building a network of shareable batteries to power agriculture in rural India. Our smart batteries are charged from grid and renewable sources and can be rented by the community. This gives farmers reliable electricity for irrigation, mechanization, and home backup whenever and wherever they need it—at a fraction of the cost of diesel, without the investment and reliability issues of solar. Our solution is cheaper, cleaner, and more dependable, engineered for rural challenges.
